Orlando -- Orlando's Ripley's Believe It or Not! has the actual gown that Marilyn Monroe wore while serenading then-President John Kennedy with a birthday song in 1962. Now you can join the festivities.
This weekend and next, the public is invited to do more than just look at the famous attire, which cost Ripley's $4.8 million.
On Saturday, December 2, all are invited to a "meet and greet" from 11am to 4 pm. Let's assume that'll be a fun photo op. Hmm, maybe you can come up with a punny holiday card. At 7pm, the movie Gentlemen Prefer Blondes will air in the parking lot, weather-permitting.
The following Saturday, December 9, Ripley's will host a Marilyn look-alike contest at 6pm. Sign up here. The winner will receive $500 cash plus other goodies. That'll help you live the get-that-ice-or-else-no-dice dream. Second and third place prizes will also be awarded. At 8pm, Some Like It Hot will be shown.
