Orlando – CityArts Orlando has long displayed the works of several Central Florida artists at once. Now the gallery+ is ready to open its doors in a new location. On March 21, 2019, at 6 p.m., the public is invited to start touring the new CityArts at 39 S. Magnolia Ave. The venue will be within the Rogers Kiene Building, which is more than 130 years old.
The first five exhibits will be Arts in Medicine, artwork created by patients in the Integrative Medicine department at Orlando Health (Upstairs Signature Gallery); Attachment Hunger with Scott Donald and Sean Hartman (Redefine Gallery); Solo exhibition by Vicki Wilson (Spotlight Gallery); Artwork created by artists ages 15-21 (Young Artists Gallery presented by Orlando Magic); and Earth, Water & Land presented by OUC the Reliable One (Downstairs Signature Gallery).
A Female Curatorial Series is on the schedule next, aimed at “celebrating women’s contributions and recognitions in the arts world.” Create Cafe is scheduled to open in Summer 2019.
